Re: This joint has been quiet...

Been working on my hot rod recently. The 1uz runs quite nice just off the base tables that come with the ms2. The itbs work nice as well. I put it on my dyno over xmas to test out the GPIO base trans controller and it seems to all function nicely. It still all needs tuning though. I might be doing a...

Re: E85

Just an update, i tested some caltex e85 a couple of weeks ago and it was 80%. So looks like they are switching to a summer blend this year. Will be interesting to see how high it gets.

Cheers

Re: E85

I run the Caltex e85 in my SB 350 chev race engine in my boat, but it is carbie fed. It goes better, runs smoother, only down side is the hard starting below about 17degs. I just tip a bit of unleaded down the carb to start it. Only change I made to the engine and fuel system was changed the carbie ...

Re: Spark table tuning

Another option is to hire a Dyno for a couple of hours. There are a lot of shops around that will hire you there dyno. usally under $100 per hour plus maybe a little extra for them to show you how to use it. That would be the best way to tune it. Otherwise just make small changes at a time to the tr...

Re: ignition cutout

With the oil presure set up you can also run a wire from the starter circuit to bypass the oil pressure switch when the engine is cranking. I think holley sell a special oil pressure switch for the job that allows you to wire in the starter circuit as well. you will probably want to connect the swit...

Re: Oldie but a Newbie

Hi Mate, That boat sounds nice. I have always wanted a timber ski boat. I race Jet boats but that is carbie fed for now. Can you post a picture?

Where are you located?

If it is stalling after ASE times out then your VE table is probably too lean, or your required fuel is too low.

Re: 36-1 Crank Wheels

I have also found that the standard VR circuit works great with non miss tooth wheels, but can have troubles with miss tooth wheels. The EF falcon I had had troubles with the 36-1 wheel. I had to change some of the capacitor values in the vr circuit to make it rev above 1200rpm. Your new hall effect...

Re: Need the help of an experienced MegaSquirt person in Syd

Hi Mate, I have never had anything to do with Honda CVCC Heads, but just did a quick google on them. Looks like you have 4 normal injectors and one extra one feeding the pre chamber. To set this up you could run the 4 main injectors to one injector channel and the pre chamber one to the second chann...

Re: Oldie but a Newbie

I'm on the gold coast and have done a few megasquirt installs now on a range of engines. I always buy my stuff from DIY. There postage is very quick and the online ordering is easy.

Re: What's everyone upto nowadays?

This board has been pretty quite lately. I got my hot rod to a point where I could get the engine running. The 1uz V8 runs great with it's ITB's and just the base fuel and ignition tables that come with the MS2 firmware. After reading other peoples troubles with ITB's I was suprised how well my engi...
