EDIS coils throw a pretty fat spark. That should be enough for most applications.

Four cylinder Ford Mondeo have good coilpacks - more reliable than Hyundai coils. Otherwise you could use four 'plain' ignition coils eg. Bosch HEC716.

If it were me doing this job I would go with EDIS or some sort of distributorless ignition. The spark will be fatter and with no moving parts it should be reliable. If interference with VR signals is a problem, shield the wiring better. You should be able to make a guard to keep crud out of the syst...

Hello all!

Hello to all the Australian Megasquirters! We haven't caught up in quite a while.. it must be time to do that soon. How are everybodies projects going? My wagon goes OK, but the highlight up here is a Hilux with a 1uz in it. Works well. Is anyone interested in a meeting soon?
