Re: 36-1 Crank Wheels

Sorry about the lack of updates. i haven't had much time to troubleshoot the CAS recently. I did grab one of these sensors http://au.farnell.com/productimages/farnell/standard/122563006-40.jpg http://au.farnell.com/honeywell-s-c/1gt101dc/sensor-hall-effect-gear-tooth/dp/1225630 and need to make a br...

Re: 36-1 Crank Wheels

I managed to get the bracket installed last weekend but I'm still playing with the settings to get it working properly. I've plugged the distributor sensor back in to keep it running for now. I used my oscilloscope to check the signal and the output looks good, I am going to get a licence for TunerS...

Re: dashboards

If you want to experiment with your own dash you could get an Arduino and connect it to a 16x2 or 20x4 LCD display like this one http://www.littlebirdelectronics.com/products/16x2-Character-LCD-%28Parallel-Interface%29.html The Arduino has several analog inputs and several digital in/outs that you c...

Re: 36-1 Crank Wheels

I've made up a bracket for the C.A.S. from a few scrap bits of aluminium http://i347.photobucket.com/albums/p464/long283/Car/Phone_Aug022.jpg I just need to solder a 0.1uF capacitor and the wires to the sensor then epoxy them in the aluminium blocks. The wires will go through the block and come out ...

Re: 36-1 Crank Wheels

The pick-up mount is in progress I'll put some photos up when I get in on. I'm trying to make a bracket for this gear-tooth sensor http://au.farnell.com/allegro-microsystems/ats665lsgtn-t/gear-tooth-sensor/dp/1278528?Ntt=1278528 so I can have a square wave output. If that doesn't work I'll use a VR ...

Re: 36-1 Crank Wheels

Yes, i have a Holden Six blue/black motor with the VK EFI manifold and a Haltec EFI computer. I hope to get one of the 36-1 wheels on that but it may take a few months because it is on the other side of the country. I'm also hoping to try one of the 7" wheels on a Valiant slant-motor just for l...

Re: 36-1 Crank Wheels

Here's a picture of the 36-1 wheel installed, http://i347.photobucket.com/albums/p464/long283/Car/Phone_Jul160_sm.jpg The three bolts keep the wheel quite centralised. I made up three aluminium spacers to go behind and stop the wheel pulling into the pulley dish. In the middle of the picture you can...

Re: 36-1 Crank Wheels

The balancer has three 3/8UNF bolts to hold the v-belt pulley on. I was going to change the crank-balancer bolt to a stud to centralise the 36-1 wheels but haven't found what I want for that at the moment. The three bolts should hold the 36-1 wheel fairly central with only a small amount of adjustme...

Re: 36-1 Crank Wheels

Got the 36-1 wheels back. They look quite neat, very happy with them. http://i347.photobucket.com/albums/p464/long283/Car/36-1Wheels.jpg I'll order the sensors and some other electronics for the semi-sequential conversion either tonight or tomorrow. I've got the car running with the MS2 Extra code n...

Re: Electronics question

The way you will be using the transistor is more like a switch. You simply want it to turn on or off, like a digital circuit. I believe you should go for maximium gain to keep the gate saturated, as long as the voltage divider keeps the gate below its maximum voltage. Someone please correct me if I'...
