Re: 36-1 Crank Wheels

Ok, It's been a while since I updated my progress on converting to CAS but I finally seem to be getting somewhere. I found I have been getting a good signal from the 1GT101DC sensor as I was with the previous sensor but have had a great deal of frustration with the tach input circuit on the MS2. Aft...

Re: I'm a bit rusty

You will probably have to adjust both. But if the engine is dying just after firing-up, adjusting the afterstart enrichment will fix that. For other readers new to MegaSquirt; The afterstart enrichment will add extra fuel then taper out for 30secs to a couple of minutes after start. There should be ...

Re: Need the help of an experienced MegaSquirt person in Syd

http://www.msextra.com/doc/ms2extra/ Setting the injectors up on the two channels may be similar to a rotary setup or it could be the staged injection settings with the staged section always on, by setting the stage point less than idle rpms. http://www.msextra.com/doc/ms2extra/MS2-Extra_Conversion...

Re: What's everyone upto nowadays?

I've modified my MS2's to run the MS2-Extra 3.1.0 code and have installed the 4-channel driver boards but I'm still working on the CAS (crank-Angle-Sensor) conversion. The Sensor works well but I found I have trouble with VR input circuit. The MS2's I have use the LM2907 or something OP-amp which is...

Re: Spark settings, distributor mode

One of the ways I have done it using a distributor with a hall sensor is; - first make sure the timing marks on your balancer are correct, - then adjust your distributor so the rotor phasing is correct (make sure the rotor is pointing to a spark-lead terminal in the distributor cap when the cranksha...

Re: Newbie Fiat L-Jet to MS2, Idles then stops , NEED HELP!!

It looks as though you have used the default Warm-Up enrichment settings suited to Fahrenheit but changed to degrees Celcius. You may need to change your temp. points in the left column. For example, start your Coolant points at 0degrees and step up to 100degrees. What might be happening is your eng...

Hi divace73, How are have you set-up the low-z injectors for the Megasquirt? As in are you using PWM or resistors to limit current flow. The LEDs are (from closest to the serial port to further away); 1. Fuel Injection 2. Warm-up Enrichment 3. Accelerator Enrichment ref: Step 80. in http://www.megam...

Re: Ford EA Falcon CPI Idle controller

There are a few options then: 1. Can you blank off the idle air an run without it - If the car is only for weekend use you might be able to put up with using a bit of accelerator untill the engine warms up. 2. Adapt a stepper motor or solenoid type idle air control to your manifold/throttlebody - Th...

Re: Ford EA Falcon CPI Idle controller

Have a look to see if you can find the idle-air motor, looks a bit like this GM one http://www.megamanual.com/ms2/GMIAC.jpg (The idle air motor moves the pintle in and out in small steps) or if you have an idle air solenoid http://i23.ebayimg.com/06/i/000/cd/46/b0fe_1.JPG?set_id=7 If it's got 4-wire...

Re: What's everyone upto nowadays?

I'm still working on the HQ but at least I now have a spare MS-2 with the JB-Perf 4-channel ign & inj board.
