Single componant needed

Post by Moiv »

Unfortunatly I broke a pin off the RS232 controller tonight :(
Is there anywhere in Australia these can be bought new or am I going to have to order one from the US?

Daniel, thanks for your response. It appears that Dick Smiths only have the Maxim 232 chip available (http://www.maxim-ic.com/quick_view2.cfm/qv_pk/1798) which has a data rate of either 120 or 200 kb/sec whereas the ST232 (http://www.st.com/stonline/products/lit ... t232ab.pdf) is 400 and appearrs to use less power. Do you know if the maxim one is usable on the MS-II ?

The MAXIM one works fine, even with 0.1uF caps, with MS2.
