The MegaSquirt Project has experienced explosive growth other the years, with hundreds of new MS installations occurring every week - a phenomenal success! MegaSquirt has been successfully used in all aspects of Internal Combustion engine applications including R&D, Industry, Race, and Research. The MS project has transformed itself from a simple R&D project into a full-featured mature engine control system. To reflect this the support structure has also changed to meet the needs of MegaSquirt Users.
Moving forward, the R&D forums for MegaSquirt project are in a read-only mode - no new forum posts are accepted.
However the forums will remain available for view, they still contain a wealth of information on how MegaSquirt works, how it is installed and used. Feel free to search the forums for information, facts, and overview. While the R&D forum traffic has slowed in recent years, this is not at all a reflection of Megasquirt users, which continue to grow year after year. What has changed is that the method of MegaSquirt support today has rapidly moved to Facebook, this is where the vast majority of interaction is happening now. For those not on Facebook the msextra forums is another place for product support. Finally, for product selection assistance, all of the MegaSquirt vendors are there to help you select a system, along with all of the required pieces to make it complete.
A forum for discussing topics of particular interest to those running MegaSquirt in Australia and New Zealand, including parts sources, group buys, etc.
While i'm dribbling I might as well mention a new install i'm working on. I have a few standard (Suzuki Sierra) engines at home and after seeing the difference a decent carb makes thought it would be interesting to see how it would respond with a set of extrators and individual throttle bodies. I found some cheap extractors locally and throttle bodies on eBay. I think they are a little big at 40mm (it's a 1300cc engine) but we'll see how she goes! I think i'll certainly need to run it on alpha-n though!!

Sounds like a good little project. If the TB's are too big you could always get some off a smaller GXSR 750. Should be a straight swap for the ones you have. Also the lastest MS2extra code has a new ITB mode that blends Alpa n and SD modes. I have nearly finished the itb setup on my toyota v8 but the rest of the hot rod still isn't finished.
Cheers

i used gsxr 600 on the escort. 38 mm id and you can spread them out if you prepared to make a new fuel rail. I found mine on US ebay, landed in oz for about $100 with wiring and tps for about $150. i've read some guys choke back the bigger bike stuff to suite, not sure if they make em or turn down carb chokes to suite. Had this in mind for my itb's considering a std 45mm weber has 36mm chokes, but it want an issue
Got my throttles, they're 42mm, off a CBR1000RR. Maybe a little big for a NA 1600 but we'll see. The injectors are about 320cc/min apparantly, but they they are a 12 hole type that have a GREAT spray pattern so i'm hoping that will make it a little easier to get a decent idle. I'll have some parts for the manifold laser cut next week and I can start piecing it together.
It's probably going to be a little tricky to tune, and from what i've read hybrid alpha-n is going to be the way to go.
