Re: Commodore 3.8L v6 plug-and-play

The attached spreadsheet(jpg) is what I have done so far. I may have to add a transistor to drive the A/C relay. Being manual I don't have to worry about the Auto transmission in/outs. I think there is a way to use the MAP sensor to a spare input but I may just run a vacuum hose to the ECU. I am not...

Re: E85

Have you been able to add much ignition advance in?
I believe adding a little bit of advance or being able to run more compression or boost is where you can really see an increase in power from e85. This is what a lot of the Turbo Falcons & Skylines at Sydney Dragway are doing.

Re: Commodore 3.8L v6 plug-and-play

I'm still working on this project at the moment. I've stripped down a standard Commodore (Delco) ECU and getting the plug out. I'm going to make an adaptor from the MS2 unit to the standard Commodore plug so I can experiment but swap back to the original ECU if I have any trouble. I'm going to run a...

Commodore 3.8L v6 plug-and-play

I now have a standard ECU and will be trying to modify it with a MS2 to be a plug and play module in a VP Commodore.

It is a 1993 VP commodore ute with the cast iron 3.8L v6 and 5-speed manual.

Re: I'm still alive! How's everyone else?

Hi Wagon, Thanks for the offer. My dad's also looking out for one that he can mail to me in Sydney. He had a reconditioned unit but I didn't want to take that, especially when he still has a v6 engine that he could use it on. I'll let you know if I don't have any luck. -Shane. http://www.speeddevice...

Re: I'm still alive! How's everyone else?

I still check up on this board every now and then. I was trying to get a burnt out Commodore ECU to modify into a plug and play to try in my ute (1993 VP Series 2). I have a spare MS2 with Extra code and JB-Perf 4-Channel driver board http://www.jbperf.com/quad_ign_inj/index.html , I wanted a VP ECU...

Re: What sensors do I use for Throttle Bodies?

There are a few options to use they are all basically a 10kOhm potentiometer. With a connection to +5/12VDC, ground(-) and one signal connection that gives a voltage between (+) and (-) relative to the throttle position. Have a look at what will be easy to mount to your setup. There are usually two ...

Re: GSXR Turbo Microsquirt

I had a hard time getting fuel rail extrusion but eventually found some through VPW http://vpw.com.au/Category/Index/51614 The other way is through Jegs or Summit in the US. I've got a few lengths left over. I should only need a single injector on the bike , which won't be hard to make, and I've com...

Re: GSXR Turbo Microsquirt

The challenge and the learning. It was the same for my ute. I could have bought a newer car or put a newer engine in the old car but learnt so much by DIY. It also got me into microcontrollers and more electronics. And the feeling of accomplishment at the end is worth it. Did you use fuel rail stock...
