Re: Microsquirt on 6v

Hey Wagon Concerning the MS unit, I reckon the 6v fed into the voltage regulator will be too low, most linear regulators need input volts of about 2 volts greater than the output (5) volts. I think you'd be pushing it to find an injector which runs on 6 volts, let alone finding one with the correct ...

Re: Spark table tuning

OK Fellas, Today was the big day. Drove into the dyno place and described the setup to Anthony, the operator/tuner/technician. Despite having never seen (or even heard of) the MS system, he was most interested in the setup. This bloke is one of those guys who are passionate about what they do, and i...

Re: Spark table tuning

Hey MetalFab I know this thread is a bit old now, but I've been agonizing over the same issue with my 186. I started with the factory curve published for a high comp 202. It was all I could find. Runs well, but paranoia has had me pull some timing due to what I think might be pinging, although these...

Re: Just joined the group

It would be great to catch up 1uzvolvo. I'm not sure how many Melbourne-ites there are on this forum, but I'm in Croydon.

Re: Just found this user group. Hello!

Nice Q you got there Long283. I could imagine how well a V8 will run with a well set up EFI system. Mates who have driven my FB are amazed at the smooth power I'm getting from a humble 186. I just came in from the shed after finishing off my cold air intake system. I ditched the open pod and fitted ...

Re: 36-1 Crank Wheels

Thanks wagon. I'll pm you my email. That would be super. Did you notice much improvement in your Falcon when you changed over to the Edis setup?

Re: 36-1 Crank Wheels

Hey Long283 I know this post has been quiet for a while, but I'm interested in upgrading my current ignition setup ( VR/dizzy/direct coil) to an Edis system. I see you had some toothed wheels made up for the inline 6? While I'm currently happy with the setup I have, I'd like to put a level of isolat...

Re: Just joined the group

Welcome 1uzVolvo. Sound like you've done your homework here. My project is a bit simpler, but I the best advive I can give is to test each stage as you go. For example, test the MS unit on the stim to make sure it all works. When I tested in the car, I tested the injectors, and ignition by feeding a...

Re: Just found this user group. Hello!

Well then, while we're showing off our old Holdens, I suppose I'd better put in. Just an update. Finally got rego! The bloke at VicRoads was a bit of a Holden nut, and when he came out to the inspection bay, he got so caught up in talking about the setup that he forgot to check the numbers! Nice fel...

Re: Reliable Serial Adaptors

Thanks for your help fellas. I decided to have a crack at re-installing TS and MLV onto an older machine I had kicking around which has a proper com port. It's a slower macine and physically larger than the newer one, but it works. So far, I've had no dropouts at all, and managed to run VEAL and/or ...
