Re: Tech Edge Vs JAW DIY wide band controllers

I bought a DIY 2y1 kit from Techedge with the LED display. The kit had all the parts needed and arrived quickly. Very happy with it, made tuning the MS2 a piece of cake. It has a number of outputs like 0-5Volts, simulated narrow band, serial connection and can display AFR or Lambda. I've also downlo...

Re: 351 Cleveland ignition options?

Glad to hear you had some success. The mechanic I did the dyno-tuning with asked me to help him modify a 351 Cleveland manifold for a customer with a Shelby Cobra. With a 4-barrel throttlebody and 14" round air-filter on top it should still resemble a classic carb fed motor in the engine bay. H...

Re: LPG

I think the ignition curve will be the biggest difference for an LPG conversion compared to petrol. I heard from one LPG tuner that you have to bring the advance in sooner as well as changes for the octane rating. Have a look at Keihin injectors for LPG. Some of them get re-badged when they come int...

Re: Aussie Coil packs

Did a quick google and found this; >1. Earth >2. +12V >3. EST (Electronic Spark Timing, ie the important one !!) >4. Bypass >Bypass mode is used at low cranking speeds where signal from the CAS >(Crank Angle Sensor) may be eratic. This may or may not be important >depending on your application. >EST...

Re: new install info needed on 5 litre ford setup

I did a quick search and the I believe the EB XR8's had 19lb/hr injectors. You could try that in your setting and use the map calculator (not sure, it might be called something different) in Megatune with the quoted factory power & torque figures to get you started. Also if you look in the succe...

Re: FET's and FET drivers now available! (and soon MS's)

I think there was someone in Brisbane/Goldcoast doing MegaSquirts and their spare parts. Shore Electronics from memory??? If not I have a couple of spare VB921s if you haven't found one yet. I'm in the Sydney area but could send one out in an envelope. Another option is to use ignition coils with bu...

Re: 351 Cleveland ignition options?

If you have a look on the Jaycar site you should be able to fine the dimensions of the hall-effect sensor. I think the disk I made was about 1.0 to 1.8mm thick with 8 slots cut in on a mill using a rotary-vice. The main concern is to get the slots seperated by the same angles but If you are using th...

Re: 351 Cleveland ignition options?

I have used a Crane Fireball Ignition kit before but they do use an optical sensor ( you would have to take care that it did not get mud in the distributor) or in my HQ I used a hall-effect sensor from Jaycar p/n: ZD1900 to modify a standard Chev distributor. The hall effect sensor works well with t...

Re: Wanted: throttle bodies

How about four stromburg butterfly/throttle assemblies or something similar? (the throttle assembly unbolts from the rest of the carb) With a 10kohm pot on one end for TPS. The early holden sixes had the smaller throttle bore.

What engine will they be going on?
